Description

An astounding Mint to Near Mint/Mint UK first pressing FACTORY SAMPLE of The Beatles 1967 Masterpiece, Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band, on UK Parlophone.  This copy is complete and we'd guess is either unplayed or has been played once.

The laminated gatefold cover grades a beautiful Mint to Near Mint, and would grade full Mint if not for a bit of lamination creasing to the spine.  There is no wear at all, just a crease where the album cover folds.  The spine is perfectly readable (regular size width).  The Sgt. Pepper insert is Mint, and the custom red inner sleeve Near Mint (this is the earliest Garrod & Lofthouse Ltd. cover, without "Patents Pending" and mistakenly titling "With a Little Help From My Friends" as "A Little Help From My Friends.)

The beautiful disc grades Mint, with no wear of any kind--it looks brand new, though it's 50 years old!  The side 1 label features a Parlophone "Factory Sample/Not For Sale" label, and a K/T tax stamp.  Both labels are in mint condition; the Side 2 label has what is either an extremely faint single spindle mark, or just as likely a faint mark from being put on a spindle at the factory after pressing.  In either case, you'll never see a better example.  Labels of course have the "Grammophone Co." and "Sold in the U.K." text.

The stamper numbers are YEX-637-1/3/LL and YEX-638-1/33 (A 3, stamped twice)/TG

If you've been looking for the ultimate, final upgrade of this album, here it is--and a Factory Sample at that!

We grade all records visually, cover first, then disc; using the abbreviations M / NM / EX / VG with + and -. We try to describe everything as accurately as possible, and spot check any vinyl flaw that looks like it might make a sound. We regularly receive praise for our grading, but as all grading is subjective, we are happy to give a full refund for anything you aren't happy with no questions asked.

Unlike some eBay sellers, we don't feel the need to hype records by including long reviews or albums, quoting lyrics, making up arcane variations. We just grade accurately, describe any flaw, and sell only high quality rare records in fine condition.
