Description

THE BEATLES - 'WE CAN WORK IT OUT'/'DAY TRIPPER'

This undocumented solid centred copy from c.1969 is the second variant of this 45 I have listed this week.

It is an EMI UK pressed disc with mismatched black & silver Parlophone labels: R 5389

The 'We Can Work It Out' label has a 1st pressing labels bearing a 'Parlophone Co. Ltd..' rim, however, the 'Day Tripper' has a later 'The Gramophone Co. Ltd..' rimmed label.

Both labels carry the 'Sold in the UK..' text but no purchase tax code present in either centre.

The disc's edge is slightly rounded in common with 1969 EMI pressed product.

Matrix numbers: 7XCE 18341-4 & 7XCE 18342-1:

Stamper codes: 12/ARM & 12/AAL

Housed in an original Parlophone company cover.

CONDITION

Disc

Labels: EXCELLENT -

A fully intact set but with, as you can see, some small blemishes. Initials are written on each side a few times but there are only two or three tiny spindle trails around each unworn centre hole.

Visual: EXCELLENT

Both playing surfaces are clean & bright and retain all of their 'as new' deep-gloss shines. There are two or three light surface marks on the 'We Can Work It Out' side, but nothing I would call a scratch anywhere. Closer inspection beneath my powerful halogen desk lamp reveals a small number of harmless wispy paper type hairlines consistent with the few plays this copy has received, but no other signifcant or major blemishes.

Play: EXCELLENT +

Both sides of this rarely played disc sound perfectly clear, clean & unworn. My careful single play-check found no evidence of any groove/play wear distortion, background interference clicks, pops or any other such audible distraction.

Cover: EXCELLENT

Minor storagewear only.

Our grading is strict & conservative grading under strong daylight & directly beneath a halogen desk lamp to UK 'RECORD COLLECTOR' standards.
