 a mint copy of the very scarce and long out-of-print 11 LP Japanese Chess box set "Muddy Waters -The Chess Box." Do not confuse this bad boy with the 3 CD / 6 LP box Chess put out in the 1990's ~ this is a whole 'nuther thang, as they say . . . The simplest way to describe this box is to say that it compiles all of Muddy's Aristocrat and Chess sides from 1947 to 1967 originally recorded for single (i.e., 78 rpm or 45 rpm rather than LP) the LP sessions such as release. In other words, this set has everything except "Muddy Waters - Folk Singer;" "Muddy Sings Big Bill;" "Muddy Waters At Newport;" "Muddy and Brass" and the post 1967 sessions such as "London Sessions;" "Electric Mud;" "Fathers and Sons," etc . . .As you can see in the photo, the 11 LP sleeves spell out "M U D D Y W A T E R S" ~ pretty cool! The booklet is mostly in Japanese although the song titles, recording dates and personnel are in English and there are lots of cool photos and graphics.
