You are bidding on a out of print Japanese pressing copy of the Muddy Waters - The Chess Box 11 x LP  box set released by Chess/P-Vine Records in 1985. This is PLP6040-6050. Cool comprehensive Muddy Waters collection from the 1980's, well over 100 songs spread out over 11 LP's. The records are in very nice, clean VG+, close to NM, condition. The record labels are in NM condition. All the records are sleeved in lightweight lp polysleeves which are housed in individual lightweight yellow paper sleeves with one letter on the front of each paper sleeve that spells out MUDDY WATERS when all sleeves are lined up in order. Lyrics in English on the back of each paper sleeve. All the lightweight paper sleeves are in VG- condition and pretty much all of them have two inch seam splits on both the top edge as well as the bottom edge of each sleeve, all of which are right in the middle of the seams. The 20 page booklet, which is mostly in Japanese but has track/song titles in English, is in VG+ condition. The outer box itself is in VG+ condition with light shelfwear and edgewear. There is a small white splotch on the top edge of the box (see picture). This box set does not have the Obi strip it originally came with. Note for international buyers: Due to the weight of the box set, shipment to any destination outside of the U.S. will have to go via USPS Priority Mail International.

We visually grade all our records for sale and grade both the record and the jacket. We go by general standards for grading, which are:

Mint (M) - an unplayed, new copy of a record. no visual defects!

Near Mint (NM) - a nearly perfect record that has usually only been played 1-3 times, in "like new" condition.

Very Good + (VG+) - record still in excellent condition but has minor signs of wear such as surface scuffs/light scratches that don't affect the play. jacket has minor signs of wear such as light ringwear, edgewear, shelfwear, and/or light creasing.

Very Good (VG) - record has more wear than VG+ and may have some slight surface noise, light pops, some scuffs or scratches.  generally still a great playing copy.  jacket may have more wear, writing, sticker residue, punch out/cut out holes or corners.

Very Good - (VG-) - record has noticeable groove wear, surface noise, scratches, and/or scuffs but still a decent playing copy. jacket has heavier wear and may have a small split seam.

Good + and Good (G+ and G) - record still plays without skipping but has considerable amounts of groove wear, surface noise, scuffs, and/or scratches.  jacket has alot of wear and some defects such as split seams, heavy creasing, writing, marks, sticker residue, etc...
