All records on sale have been fully playtested and are guaranteed to not have playback defects such as skips, sticks, excessive surface noise and/or serious degrading in audioquality (not part of the original pressing).

When available the original inner sleeve is included, but all records I sell come into a new quality innersleeve which will be put next to the sleeve into a plastic outer sleeve.

***  Due to a flaw in the pressing process, the earliest copies of Harvest and Everybody Knows in this set were known to have SN in a few spots. The copies that came originally in this particular box were no exception. However, Warner Bros. addressed this quickly by offering free replacement copies for these two titles to all buyers of the boxset, an offer which I gladly took. So, included in this box are four perfect slabs of solid vinyl which will offer the best possible playback quality. I'm hesitant to let these go but I'm trying to cut back on my hoarding habit, so my loss will be your gain. ***

Product info: On December 1st, a limited edition (3000 worldwide) box set of 180g LP’s entitled Neil Young Official Release Series Discs 1-4 will be released and is a remastering of the first four solo Neil Young albums: Neil Young from January 1969, Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere from May 1969, After the Gold Rush from August 1970, and Harvest from February 1972. These four albums are from the same period of time represented by the Archives Volume One.

The records were mastered by Chris Bellman at Bernie Grundman Mastering (source) and pressed by Furnace MFG by their German partner Pallas Group (source) on 180g vinyl. Furnace MFG handled the packaging of the LPs and the box, lovingly recreating the cover art and gold-foil-stamping the serial number on each. In the case of the Harvest LP, they located the last manufacturer in the US that can still make hand-glued gatefold covers to carefully reproduce the original cover. According to the press release, “once the box sets are gone, this limited edition configuration will no longer be available,”

We use the Record Collectors Grading system with just one + or – behind the grade. Mint minus is the highest grade we will use for *any* used item. Records are critically viewed under strong halogen light. 

Mint (M): The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet. booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records marked as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.

Excellent (EX): The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.

Very Good (VG): The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects is acceptable

Good (G): The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.


The record will be packed carefully in a thick sturdy package with record behind the sleeve.
