Description
Rare chance to own a demonstration copy of the Beatles 1965 single "We Can Work it Out / Day Tripper". This has been in the family collection since it was released (my father worked for EMI at the time of the release).
The record is a UK first pressing from the 3rd of December 1965 with a catalogue code "R 5389". It has a white label and red "A" on both sides denoting a double A-side (I believe only the first twelve Beatles promo singles had this sleeve design). It's stamped "DEMONSTRATION RECORD", "NOT FOR SALE" and has a push-out style centre.
The record is in decent condition: it's not warped or broken but there are light surface scratches on both sides and specifically there is a light scratch mark on the Day Tripper side. I've played both sides and although quite crackly there were no jumps (would probably benefit from being professional cleaned). The label on each side is in good condition considering the age.
