Description

This is a near-mint condition original 45 rpm 7" record by The Swanks featuring "My College Cry" on the A-side and "Ghost Train" on the B-side.  This album was pressed by Charm Records.  It has an ink spot/stain on the label of the B-side as can be seen in the first picture.
Excerpt from http://www.45cat.com/record/60806081:
The Swanks who recorded Ghost Train were Jack Revelle, Otha Libby and Bobby Jones. They recorded the 45 rpm record in November 1964 at Riposo Studios (named for the late Mike Riposo), located in the old Onondaga Hotel building in Syracuse, New York. As a song, Ghost Train was an after thought. Peter Huntley (owner of Charm Records) had written a song called My College Cry and asked The Swanks to record it. At the conclusion of a rehearsal the morning of the scheduled recording session, they realized they had no song ready for the "B” side of the 45 rpm record they were going to cut in a matter of less than two hours. So, in the space of about an hour, they composed the instrumental that came to be Ghost Train. Libby was drafted into the Army the following July and drummer Jones was drafted not long afterwards. Revelle joined the US Naval Reserve, they all went their separate ways (and the band did not play together again for 45 years until a reunion was held in 2009). Several years later (around 1968) Huntley pressed 500 copies of the record and sent them to radio stations all across the U.S. but the record never got any air play outside the Syracuse area. In the early 1980s, the song showed up on a German compilation of American instrumental rock music and since then has become something of a cult phenomenon, appearing in over two dozen LP compilations and in the sound track of a French motion picture. In 2014 it was considered for the sound track in a Nissan advertising campaign in Europe and original surviving copies of the record have sold on E-Bay over the past three years for $1,900, $2,500, and $3,000. The song was recorded by a German band (The Looney Tunes) in 1994 and was most recently performed live by The Boss Tones at the International Surfing Museum in Huntington Beach, California. A perfectly awful version can be found on YouTube by a Japanese band called Jimmy and His Mojo Men.

I do want to add that there is a little scuff/smudge in the 3rd picture to the left of the label. However, it does not have any impact on the quality of the sound.
