Description

I am usually reluctant to use the word 'rare' is respect of my sale items as it is an often misused description but in this case it is thoroughly justified. The disc is from my friend's extensive collection and is the only LP released by the Apple group in 1969  but proved a disaster after being on sale for a very short time. Some tracks survived to become classics of psychedelic rock but this record itself sank almost without trace until being reissued under a different labelin 1994.This record is in extremely good condition with just a few almost invisible scratches on side 2 - I can see these only with the aid of a powerful illuminated magnifying glass. Neither I nor my friend have played the disc - quite frankly it would not be to either of our tastes musically-but I see no reason why it should not play perfectly well. I think it more likely that it will be treated like an Old Master painting and simply kept as a very collectable item. The matrix numbers are correct and it is in the correct original sleeve which is also in very good shape which belies its almost 50 year age.Personal collection is preferable but I will send by Royal Mail Special Delivery which includes insurance up to £2,500unless the buyer is happy for it to be sent by cheaper means but it might be at your own risk. The p&p charge I have quoted is less than the actual cost but e bay rules will not allow me to charge the full amount.

I am amazed at the dizzy heights the bidding has reached. Please do not think you are bidding for an absolutely perfect mint recording. In view of my comments about the scratches I thought I should dare to play the record - there is a just audible click per revolution on the first track of side 2 which persists for about 2/3 of the track. The very minor scratches do not appear to have any effect but I must say I do not have a very upmarket and sensitive record player. The actual 'music' to my ears is a dreadful cacophony but in fact plays well and the stylus does not jump out of the groove like it might on a really bad scratch.  The booklet insert is not present which I have noted in response to another query. If you have bid on the assumption that all is perfect then I will understand if you want to withdraw your bid.
